Colton Crossing project stalled, transportation officials question public benefit

Despite it's success in securing federal transportation funds (see TIGER funding posting), the Colton Crossing project is now stalled due to disagreements, between railroads and transportation officials in the Los Angeles area, regarding the project's public benefit. The project will potentially lose its funds to another Southern California project unless an agreement can be reached by next Wednesday, April 7. The disagreement was revealed during a California Transportation Commission vote on Wednesday, March 24.

In the upcoming days it will be interesting to see which TIGER funded projects fail to move forward due to a lack in consensus building between the project contractors and other stakeholders.
